The Starrett 1017-4 outside dial caliper gauge opens to 2” with a 4” deep throat, and has carbide contacts for longer life and wear resistance. The deep opening reaches over the workpiece, such as in castings and sheet metal, to easily measure small sections of that workpiece. The retraction lever allows for one-handed use and gauge control, while a direct reading dial hand is accurate.
